And yet I prefer the inverted shot more... no accounting for taste, eh?! ;-D 29 Apr 2007 2:09am @amy: Thanks Amy - I'm a big fan of the variations of exposures too!!! Michelle from Melbourne, Victoria, AustraliaI like the colour version - it reminds me off home. I am new to your blog but I will be back for a visit again soon. 29 Apr 2007 6:44am @Michelle: Thanks again Michelle... Michelle from Melbourne, Victoria, AustraliaI like the colour version - it reminds me of home. 29 Apr 2007 6:45am @Michelle: Thanks Michelle - glad to have you visit!!! Hurry back! Anne from White Rock, CanadaHope I'm the last to post. Oh! Jerry, Jerry, a beautiful scene of the marina and the bay, beautifully exposed, but its oh so distracting. Is there any way you can poke your camera beyond the fence to cut out all the rows of fencing and the big cable/rope from bottom left area up to the right. I had one refused for publication because of one darned wire (which was a support dug in the grass for the flagpole). This one I used the perspective crop tool to put every line of the building straight too in the larger one for printing. Didn't say this to burst your bubble or anything - I love harbour and marina shots - they are very busy usually to start with though. Hope you accept it the way it is intended - helpful criticism not destructive I hope! ;) PS I just went back and checked your EXIF and you weren't that near anyway it would seem, using 200 mm zoom. Let me know! Is it since you were shooting RAW? 29 Apr 2007 10:31am @Anne: Thanks Anne - I 'll have to keep this in mind... Anne from White Rock, CanadaI had a link in there to the one that I got criticized for the flagpole wire but it hasn't shown up. Let's try again. 29 Apr 2007 10:34am @Anne: Thanks Anne - got it... Laurie from New Jersey, United StatesHi Jerrry! Anne has some valid points. Sometimes a photo says more with less in it. Often there is so much that we find wonderful to look at with our eyes, as photographers we want to share the whole thing, but often it's better just to show a little bit. It's a beautiful harbor, and I see a few boats there that I would love to have. (Some day, I do hope, some day!!!) The light you captured is stunning! 29 Apr 2007 12:36pm @Laurie: Hey Laurie - thanks for the input! I shot it from across the beach from the 4th floor - knew it was too busy with all the power lines, but thought I would share the harbor anyway.... Behrooz from Tehran, IranI like the colored one better. The light is stunning. And it's a great scene. 29 Apr 2007 12:55pm @Behrooz: Thanks Behrooz - I think most do like the color better! I appreciate the input...:-)) Angry Buddha from United StatesGreat shot Jerry. I'm jealous of the scenery that surrounds you. 29 Apr 2007 1:14pm @Angry Buddha: Thanks AB!!! Come on down and see us! @Alfredo J. Martiz J.: Alfredo - great to hear from you!!! Thanks! |
