Beautiful! Could have been the proud possession of a French belle in 19th cent New Orleans, if the fleur-de-lys motifs signify its provenance. Fascinating!

Very beautiful fan Jerry! I think Sidonie is right - it definitely looks like it had a French connection. Were your family ever in France - because you write French quite well!. Maybe even Quebec (now a Nation within Canada). You've taken a darned good photo of it anyway :)
