FlamingoPosted by Jerry (Tampa, United States) on 17 February 2007 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio. I stopped at Sunken Gardens yesterday to see how all the wonderful plants, birds and butterflies were doing for the winter. All the bird cages were empty as we are preparing for the coldest night of the year. But the flamingos were out eating in their pen so I capture a few images of my beautiful friends!

@badala: Many thanks - the beauty of the bird really helps out a hopeful camera man! @Kaushal: Thanks Kaushal - much appreciated! juant3 from Bremen, GermanyThis is really a great shot! We have here in Bremen a store which not only sells plants but also have a small zoo in it. Some of their animals are flamingos. So I have to say that this is an amazing close up showing the prettiness of this bird... 17 Feb 2007 11:18am @juant3: Thanks Juan, I appreciate the encouragement! Anne from White Rock, CanadaIt's a wonderful shot. Never saw such detail in a Flamingo before - with wings folded - looks like the feathers are braided. Beautiful color! PS.
