@Dimitrios: Thanks Dimitrios! You are the 2nd one to offer the same tip - thanks!!!!
Nice one Jerry, almost looks surreal like one of those pier-scenes from The Sopranos. The way it stands alone and the quaint architecture really make for a striking image. Nicely done mate!!

Love this picture! It even looks like CGI because it has such great colours and clarity... The gorgeous skies are a great addition to the picture, evoking a nice feel of a good day out by the pier. Well done. :)

@Anne: Thanks for the kind words Anne! Much appreciated!
This looks like a really quaint little place. I love things like that. We have lots of little bait and tackle places scattered around NJ. I've never thought to photograph them. They are always unusual and do make for great subjects.
I visit your blog but don't always have time to comment. You have really great photos and it seems like you are enjoying life as evidenced through the photos you post.
I left a reply to your question about my son on my blog. Thanks for asking about him. Hope all is well with your son in Iraq. Stay in touch, it's nice to hear from people who can relate to what it's like being a parent of a soldier during these times. My son goes over to Iraq in a few weeks.

Jerry, another great shot here. It's too bad that this bait shack didn't have any business while you were shooting it.

I'm not sure what it is about this photo... but it's very striking! The composition makes this little shack look monumental - like the Parthenon or something.

@Damon Schreiber: Very kind - thank you!
It's such a nice day for fishing! Look at that sky, it's so blue and the Pier Bait House looks so inviting... where are the people? How'd you manage to take this one? Tips, pls. :)

Very calming colors. I like the warm light from the left. The line of balloon on the right is eyecatching as well.

@Donna: thank you kindly Lady Donna!
This is a nice shot, however theres a few things id like to comment. the sky was well timed and processed. I don't like the edges though. the pepsi shade cover and the tree branches just enough in the picture to be distracting.... I would suggest moving a little forward or even a few steps back to include them in the picture as content. I dont know if you had any control over this pic but i wouldve tried to move that white stand a little to the left to get it out of the way of the opening to the fishing shop or you move, one of the two. Another thing that is mostly just your preference, but people love to see people. i like the lonliness of the shop but the way you timed the picture with the lighting, it feels like it's missing that crucial human element. maybe even something as slight as setting up the shot for some body walking by in a motion blur shot. just a thought. overall: 6/10

@Kody Whiteaker: Great suggestions Kody! I appreciate the input!
The wide angle makes the sky seem very expansive -- nice shot!

@Pero: Much thanks Pero!
I really like the perspective on this shot. I'm also a fan of photos without people. It's not necessary for me to see a human subject. The place wouldn't be in existence without one. I'd be hesitant to move something to get the shot. I don't think moving that stand would have given way to a better view and it gives some depth to the image.
Nicely surreal . I like it just the way it is.

@Josie Soho: much thanks for the encouragement Josie - I really appreciate it!!!!
I really like this shot - as Chris Sullivan and Josie Soho said, something surreal about it... very evocative, lots of mood... a picture with a story.
